
“During this process where we tried to find settlement, different solutions were discussed. That might be my lack of imagination but one of most obvious solutions is to rebuild tracks but other solutions could be found. (Lithuanian Railways’ separation) has been discussed from the beginning of the case over the years but in the end no sufficiently strong commitments could be found and so we ended in situation where we are now,” Vestager said at a Vilnius news conference on Tuesday.
In her words, separation of LG operations is not mandatory in an effort to clear the competition violation, however, it is one of the possible options.
