“In general, there is no need for new airports in Lithuania. In the future, Vilnius Airport could be turned into a residential area, since it is not technically possible to make the airport’s runway longer and the airport will not be able to meet the needs of the country. Kaunas Airport would be sufficient to Lithuania; however, the speed train project from Kaunas to Vilnius should be implemented together,” the politician said in a meeting with the Lithuanian Business Confederation.
