Around 300 people from 25 countries have already registered for the three-day 9th All-Europe Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous (EURYPAA) Convention on Jul. 27-29. Participants will include representatives of Japan, Australia, Thailand, the United States, Norway, Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom etc.

The program will include presentations on various issues related to sobriety, as well as yoga and meditation sessions.

“The goal of the convention inviting to celebrate sobriety together is to provide opportunities to share your experience, strength and hope with people from all corners of the world and help spreading the AA celebratory message to people suffering from alcoholism and people still looking for help,” the organizers say.

Held annually in a different country, EURYPAA was originally intended for young people but now its organizers say there’s no age limit for its participants. The convention will take place at the art factory Loftas.

The AA was established in the United States in 1935, and the first AA group was formed in 1988. Currently, there are around 120 such groups in Lithuania, and 14 Lithuanian groups are abroad, including Ireland, the UK, the US and Sweden.
