Website launched to allow Lithuanian businesses outsource research

DELFI / Mindaugas Ažušilis

“The website was launched today,” Arūnas Karlonas, director of the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA), told journalists in Vilnius on Friday.

E-mokslovartai.lt (“e-science gate”) will be the largest website in Lithuania where you can outsource your research services from various fields. Lithuanian and foreign companies as well as academic and research institutions will be able to easily and conveniently get information on research services, projects and funding opportunities. The website will contain all information about research services in Lithuania, including equipment of research institutions, services and personnel they can provide.

E-mokslovartai.lt currently unites Lithuanian science institutions, including Vilnius University, Kaunas University of Technology and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, and provides over 2,000 types of service.

“We hope the business sector will clearly see on this website what has been done or will clearly state their problem, fill in the application form and turn to one, two or three science institutions for an answer,” Karlonas said.

In his words, the project will not be limited to Lithuania only.

“The idea has been presented to the European Commission already. We are working towards including Baltic and Nordic research and experimental development services,” he said.
