Belarus promises to answers questions on Astravyets nuclear plant at consultation in Vilnius

Minsk is prepared to answer any outstanding questions about the Astravyets nuclear power plant during a consultation on June 21 and 22 in Vilnius, according to a representative of the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“On June 21-22 in Vilnius, there will be an expert consultation during which we will discuss an entire spectrum of questions regarding the Belarus nuclear power plant: the choice of construction location, the progress of the construction work, and so on,” Dmitri Mironchik, a Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs representative, told journalists in Minsk on Thursday.

“In our opinion, this is the format in which the dialogue should happen: calmly, professionally, non-politically, and without inflated sensations or ‘revelations’ by special services,” he emphasised.

He also reiterated Belarus’ position on the reports of incidents at the construction site, which is that they were not dangerous.
