On 8 and 9 July, Chicago Chorale mixed choir from Chicago (USA) under the direction of conductor Bruce Tammen will give free concerts in Kaunas and Vilnius. Concerts to be given at Pažaislis Music Festival in Kaunas and Christopher Summer Festival in Vilnius will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the American choir.

‘We are happy to see one of the most outstanding choirs in Chicago choosing Lithuania and other Baltic States to celebrate its anniversary. When deciding on foreign concert tours, choirs usually have several travel directions to choose from. The fact that the Baltic States are increasingly chosen as the tour destination shows that we are holding competitive place in the choral tour map’, said organiser of choral tours R. Dambytė.

Chorale has performed at Ravinia Festival, one of the oldest outdoor music festival in the United States with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, with the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest, and the Baroque Band.

The choir has appeared numerous times on “Live from WFMT” with host Kerry Frumkin and has recorded six CDs. In 2012, Chorale’s performance of Rodion Shchedrin’s The Sealed Angel: A Russian Liturgy was named top performance of the year by Chicago Classical Review.

Locals and tourists are invited to the intellectual choral music concerts on 8 and 9 of July:

8 July, Wednesday, 19:00, Kaunas Cathedral Basilica, Vilniaus g. 1, Kaunas
9 July, Thursday, 19:00, Church of St. Casimir, Didžioji g. 34, Vilnius
