Lietuvos Geležinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways) said that China Railway Construction Corporation International is sending its specialists to Vilnius because it is interested in offering its services as a contractor.
It has been reported that another Chinese company, China Railway Corporation, might be interested in taking part in the Rail Baltica not just as a contractor, but as an investor as well.
Minister of Transport Rimantas Sinkevičius at the time said that Lithuania did not need any additional investment in the project which is mostly financed by the European Union.
