“We have received a letter from lawyers of Yanukovych’s son. The same letter has been also received by the Ministries of Finance and Justice,” Rasa Jakilaitienė, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told BNS on Monday, refusing to comment on the contents of the letter.

The Government of Estonia has recently received similar letters from Janykovych’s lawyers as well. Therefore, it is likely that other EU countries might have received such letters too.

According to the delfi.ee news website, the Estonian government was asked in the letter about the reasons behind the decision to include the former Ukrainian president’s son into the “blacklist.”

In March, the European Union froze assets of Yanukovych and several dozen people having ties with the ex-Ukrainian president.
