According to him, while Lithuanian soldiers have amassed considerable expertise from participating in international NATO-led missions, the current funding does not allow to get the forces technologically equipped at the level comparable to some of Lithuania’s Western allies.
Even the size of the army leaves something to be desired. “When (the defence) budget oversteps 1.2 percent of the GDP, we will be increasing the number (of sodliers),” Gen. Zenkevičius told TLT/DELFI.
