Her agenda in Vilnius includes meetings with President Dalia Grybauskaitė, Parliamentary Speaker Loreta Graužinienė and Defense Minister Juozas Olekas.

The topics of the meetings include security situation in the Baltic region and South Caucasus, Georgia’s aspirations for NATO integration and reforms in Georgia’s security and defence sectors, Lithuania’s Defense Ministry said.

Georgia has asked NATO to provide it with a Membership Action Plan during the Warsaw summit next year. The plan would be a significant step towards fully-fledged membership, however, it is still unclear whether the big Western European nations will approve.

In an effort to join NATO, Georgia must implement reforms in fields of regional and national security, as well as justice, the Lithuanian President’s Office said in a press release issued on the eve of the meeting.
