Kaunas-based Searchnode named most ambitious Lithuanian startup

Kaunus start-up SearchNode has been named the most ambitious startup in Lithuania by the global business portal Forbes.

The Kaunas based start-up was accompanied by two more startups from Kaunas Technology University on the list – Inside Warehouse and Copictures, that launched in the KTU Startup Space, have been selected by Forbes as some of the most ambitious in Lithuania.

SearchNode, created by 16-year-old Antanas Bakštys, offers search engines for online shops.The startup has 100 clients in 13 countries four years after launching.

Inside Warehouse, founded by KTU graduates, is a virtual system that partners with other websites, and puts goods into the news flow of the system where it can be bought.

Copictures, created by KTU student Dovydas Navickas, provides a common platform for photographers, media agencies and event organizers. The startup has attracted nearly $200,000 investment and is expanding into international markets.

Donatas Smailys, the head of KTU Startup Space said: “Over 90% investments attracted by Lithuanian startups, in total about €130 million, is foreign capital.”
