About ten plots of lands, set aside for commercial use, will be leased in the centre of Klaipėda as well as a 3.48-hectare site in the district of Giruliai, set aside for construction of residential properties.
Klaipėda Municipality specialist Raimonda Gružienė said that the plots will be auctioned for lease rather than sale in order to attract more developers.
Nine more plots near Šiaurės Avenue, between 0.7ha and 2.1ha, will be up for sales. Klaipėda Municipality expects the sale to fetch about €0.8 million, half of which will go to municipal coffers.
“We have felt interest [in the land plots], but the auctions will show how serious it is. So far, investors are most interested in plots in the city centre and Giruliai,” Gružienė tells the daily Verslo Žinios.
The first auctions are planned in June. In all, about 30 land plots will be up for sale or lease this year.
