Militants linked with the Islamic State (IS) kidnapped and beheaded French traveller Hervé Pierre Gourdel, shows a video published online on Wednesday.
“Such brutal crimes that are unanimously condemned around the world cannot break the international community’s determination to fight terrorism,” the ministry said in a press release, condemning the “barbaric crime linked to the Islamic State (IS).”
Those responsible for this cruel crime must be brought to justice, said the ministry.
IS fighters recently published recordings of executions of two US journalists and a humanitarian aid worker from the United Kingdom.
