Swine flu in Ukraine has already claimed nearly 50 lives so Lithuania is sending more than 30,000 packages of drugs from the country‘s medical stock reserve, said Arvydas Skorupskas, an advisor to the Minister of Health.
“Once the government approves the decree, we will send the batch to them this or next week. They lack all kinds of medicine for financial reasons. Currently a minister‘s visit is being planned to Ukraine in March to meet with the Minister of Health.”
Skorupskas told Žinių Radijas that all the Lithuanian government services had been supplied with as many packages of medication as they needed but there were a substantial amount leftover and it was decided to send them to Ukraine.
