Before this appointment, Widtmann worked at the Lithuanian Ministry of Energy and before that, for the company Litgrid, the state-run power transmission system operator, according to Daiva Rimašauskaitė, chief adviser to the energy minister.
She added that Widtmann was involved in LitPol Link, a Lithuanian-Polish electricity interconnection project.
The position of Lithuania’s energy attaché to Poland was established by the government back in 2011, since the implementation of joint energy projects, including LitPol Link and a gas interconnection, requires a representative that would work to enhance bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
