“As the cold has set in, people find warm clothing, footwear, blankets and other items very useful. Their eyes are burning with gratitude to Lithuanian people,” Roman Syrotych, head of Caritas Kyiv, was quoted as saying in a statement.

Donations by people in Lithuania reached Ukraine just before the New Year. Lithuanians not only donated plenty of warm clothes, shoes, blankets and food but also donated money. All in all, over EUR 13,000 were collected.

Lithuanian Caritas, the country’s seven largest dioceses and Ukrainian Honorary Consul in the western Lithuanian port of Klaipėda Genius Vygantas organized the collection of donations for Ukraine in October-November.

Other non-governmental organizations in Lithuania and the Government of Lithuania are constantly collecting donations for Ukraine.
