The Summer of Sangaile will have its world première in Sundance, Utah, this January. The film tells a story about Sangaile, a 17-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a stunt pilot despite her fear of heights. While spending time in her parents’ lakeside villa, she meets Auste. Sangaile allows Auste to discover her most intimate secret and in the process finds in her teenage love, the only person that truly encourages her to fly.
“This is a very important event for the Lithuanian cinema,” says the film’s producer Živilė Gallego about the Sundance pick. “The festival attracts elites of the American and world cinema each year. Premièring the film at Sundance will give it a strong start, something that exceeds all our expectations.”
