Lithuanian government sets aside EUR 43,800 for treatment of Ukrainians

This is the second financial package extended by the Lithuanian government. A sum of 150,000 litas was granted in February, but the Health Ministry said additional 150,700 litas were needed to fully settle accounts with the Vilnius University Hospital and the Kaunas Clinic of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.

Lithuania’s government has granted nearly 1 million litas for different types of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, which covered humanitarian shipments to Ukraine, treatment of injured soldiers in Lithuanian hospitals and hosting of war orphans in Lithuania. Lithuanian non-governmental organizations have also organized campaigns to collect humanitarian aid for Ukraine.

Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė said during a visit in Kiev in late November that the country would also provide military assistance to Ukraine.
