The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia is observed every year on 17 May all over the world to commemorate the day when the World Health Organization declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder in 1990. Since 2004, the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia has received official recognition from international institutions like the European Parliament.
This year, the LGL is organizing Rainbow Days 2015 to celebrate the IDAHOT for the fourth time. The previous events proved to be very successful and were attended by many people. This year’s events will include a traditional bus ride in the centre of Vilnius and film screenings in three Lithuanian towns.
