“Partnership with Poland is especially important for Lithuania. After we set up the position of transport attaché in Warsaw, we’ll have the possibility to have closer ties in the transport sector and create conditions for growing the contact base and we’ll have the possibility to seek maximum benefit for Lithuania,” Lithuanian Transport Minister Rokas Masiulis told BNS Lithuania.
The Lithuanian government will decide on Wednesday on eliminating the position of transport attaché in Russia, vacant since early 2017, and creating one in Poland.
The transport attaché position in Poland is estimated to cost around 100,000 euros a year.
Lithuania currently has transport attachés at its Permanent Representation in the EU as well as at its embassies in Kazakhstan and China.
