
The Union of Artists has announced a competition of sculptural and architectural ideas for the monument to be built in Reformatu Square in the Lithuanian capital.
The Vilnius municipality emphasized the importance of actualizing the essence of reformation and revealing it by way of codes that unite its past, presence and future, portraying the liveliness of reformation via expression of the work done by its personalities.
According to the press release, the idea of the monument is to promote tolerance, education and democracy, with applications expected by mid-October.
The idea is supported by the Culture Ministry and the Society of Lithuania’s Reformation History and Culture.
Lithuania’s parliament has declared 2017 as the year of Reformation.
