New Polish defense attaché accredited to Lithuania

Lithuanian Vice Minister of National defense Vytautas Umbrasas awarded Colonel Wojcik with a National Defense System of the Republic of Lithuania Medal of Merit. He also thanked Poland for regular participation in NATO‘s Baltic air policing mission and highlighted close bilateral cooperation in the areas of security and defense.

Before his accreditation to Lithuania, Sadys worked for the Polish Ministry of Defense.

Poland is one of the most active participants of the Baltic air policing mission, having sent its fighter jets to Lithuania seven times since 2005.

Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine also set up a trilateral brigade in 2014, and Lithuanian has been sending troops to the Szczecin-based NATO Multinational Corps Northeast.
