Two Lithuanian shorts at Stockholm animation festival REX

Woods by Ignas Meilūnas

One of them is the short “Woods” (“Miškas”, 2015) by Ignas Meilūnas, a story about a hermit scientist trying to capture a mythic creature to add to his collection. “Guilt” (“Kaltė”, 2013) by Reda Tomingas is a story of a lonely fox who wants to isolate itself from the world and enjoy its guilt set free.

Both shorts have been awarded in Lithuania and internationally. Meilūnas will also participate in a panel discussion during the festival in Stockholm.

REX animation festival, curated by Maria Razakamboly, is organized by EUNIC (the European Union National Institutes for Culture) in Stockholm and will screen 40 animated films from 10 European countries.

The participation of the Lithuanian animators in the festival has been supported by the Lithuanian Embassy in Sweden and the Lithuanian Culture Institute.
