Electricity price in Lithuania jumps by quarter due to lower NordBalt imports

With a decline of electricity flows through NordBalt by almost 60% and growing prices in neighbouring countries, electricity price in Lithuania has gone up by a quarter, Elektrum Lietuva reports.

Last week, the average electricity price in Lithuania has increased 25%, to €40,40 per MWh.

Last week, Lithuania imported 86% of its electricity, the biggest share among the Baltic states. Latvian electricity imports amounted to 24%, while Estonia produced 68% more electricity than it consumed.
