Lithuanian president urges OSCE to step up mission in Ukraine

The issue was discussed with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier in Vilnius.

The meeting addressed regional security and the OSCE role in ensuring implementation of the Minsk accords. In Grybauskaitė’s words, it is crucial to step up OSCE’s special monitoring mission, ensuring free movement and security, the presidential press service said.

The Lithuanian president emphasized that settling the conflict is impossible until international monitoring of the Ukrainian-Russian border is ensured, reads the press release.

The OSCE leader is in Lithuania to attend a conference organized by OSCE and the United Nations on the role of women in international peace and security.
