“It’s one of the party’s most important documents in a long time. Time has come to give answers to ourselves, to the people of Lithuania and partners in the West,” the party’s leader Gabrielius Landsbergis said, presenting the resolution dedicated to Europe.

“It’s a resolution aimed at saying a clear thing – that Lithuania can do better. It’s a foundation for people in Lithuania no to lose hope, to say that things can get better in Lithuania. In my opinion, one of the main reasons of emigration is that people who lack things don’t believe that things can turn for the better,” Andrius Kubilius, a TS-LKD member said, presenting the document.

The convention also approved the party’s new statute and changed the procedure of nominating candidates for presidential and mayoral elections.

Public polls show the TS-LKD is now the most popular party in Lithuania, with the ruling Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union lagging behind it. 17 percent of voters would now vote for the TS-LKD.

The conservative party currently has the second-largest political group in the Lithuanian parliament, having 31 members. The party has around 14,500 members.
