“When you’ve been in the trenches of politics for too long, everyone, who isn’t with you, becomes suspicious. Those, who dare ask: “Why are all of you fighting?” seem insincere. Those, who do not use political labels on everyone that moves seem inexperienced. Those, who offer to talk “do not have a position.” Only “us” and “them” remains,” G. Nausėda wrote on Facebook in response to G. Landsbergis’ interview with Delfi.

According to the candidate, what is worst is that due to excessively long-lasting political clashes, those involved no longer see that the self-destruction has exceeded all limits and even when there is hope for the war to end, continue burning bridges out of habit.

“Thus, I earnestly suggest to raise your head above the trenches and look around – these aren’t enemies, but the people of Lithuania, who are sick of the sandbox shootout,” G. Nausėda wrote.

Finds candidate lacking specific position

In an interview with Delfi, G. Landsbergis shared his hypothesis that “Farmer” leader Ramūnas Karbauskis will eventually contact G. Nausėda to talk about the cabinet’s continuing work.

The Conservative leader suspects R. Karbauskis’ sabotage, that S. Skvernelis is intentionally being hampered in participating in the elections.

“On one hand, aid is not provided in gathering signatures, the party is not being mobilised. On the other hand, it is sabotage just because some of S. Skvernelis’ main opponents are former members of R. Karbauskis’ Seimas group – M. Puidokas and N. Puteikis,” G. Landsbergis stated.

He also found G. Nausėda to be lacking a specific position in matters of political life.

“There is no defined position, clear criticism, I haven’t even heard political views. The only thing I am hearing is that he intends to make peace between different sides,” G. Landsbergis said.
