“The country’s foreign policy is void of substantial steps, there are no attempts to build partner coalitions in pursuit of national interests,” Lopata said in the interview to the daily Lietuvos Rytas. He added that “Lithuania is no longer seen in international politics as an actor”.

“The calls of our President Grybauskaitė to restrict veto powers of the UN Security Council‘s permanent members sounded sterile. As it has become the custom, the president addressed her speech not to the international audience, but to our domestic politics,” Lopata said.
