According to Vaisbrodas, Moscow’s actions in Syria contravene the goal of the Charter of the United Nations, while its drive to pursue narrow interests of its own in the Middle East and refusal to cooperate with the international community leads to more chaos in Syria.

The chief advisor told the radio Žinių Radijas that Russia’s goal was to eliminate the opposition of Syria’s current regime so that only two parties of the conflict remain, Bashar al-Assad and ISIS, removing moderate opposition to the Syrian president.
