Sign in Lithuanian, Tibetan languages to be unveiled in Tibet Square in Vilnius

Vilnius Mayor Remigijus Simasius plans to take part in the event next Tuesday, his spokesman Aleksandras Zubriakovas told BNS.

The sign in the Tibetan language will feature a mandala of Tibet’s patron bodhisattva Avalokitesvara.

“The ritual of making and destroying a mandala is one of the most flagrant examples of how unique Tibet’s civilization is,” the non-governmental Tibet Group said in a press release.

Lithuania officially considers the Tibet region in the Himalaya Mountains as part of China, however, speaks for peaceful regulation of the relations between the Chinese administration and Tibet’s spiritual leader Dalai Lama.
